Dua Lipa has produced countless pop hits, but fans might not know that she’s had a hidden talent all this time. The pop queen teamed up with Chris Stapleton on “Think I’m in Love with You” live, and listeners were blown away when they heard her soulful blues vocals! The single was already a hit for the Tennessee country singer, but when Lipa did her version, she really made the song entirely her own.

After Lipa sang the duet with Stapleton at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, their take on the song without a doubt became the definitive version. Fans also took note of Lipa’s class act onstage, as the pop star stepped back in the middle of the performance, allowing Stapleton to lock eyes with his wife Morgane Stapleton onstage and sing the romantic tune just for her during the chorus.

“Think I’m In Love With You” is the perfect vehicle for Stapleton and Lipa to show off their vocal prowess. The pair performed their duet on May 16, 2024, and Stapleton uploaded the performance two days later on his YouTube channel, where it attracted 3.7 million views. The studio recording found the country star experimenting with more of a funk and soul sound, so it was fitting that the live cut of the song also showcased a fresh side of what Lipa can do as well.

Fans loved to hear the two stars team up on the hit and added comments such as “Honestly one of the best live performances ever, in my opinion,” and “One of the best duets I’ve ever heard. I’m not a huge fan of Dua Lipa, but she blew it out of the water on this song.” Stapleton sure knows how to pick a duet partner, as his performance with Jennifer Hudson on “Night Life” and “You Are My Sunshine” caused a stir at the Country Music Association Awards.

Stapleton released “Think I’m in Love with You” on February 12, 2024, as the second single from his fifth studio album Higher. The country singer wrote and co-produced the song, with his wife Morgane and Dave Cobb completing the production team. Morgane, who co-produced the album as well, provided backing vocals live at the Academy of Country Music Awards performance. “Think I’m in Love with You” was a top 50 Billboard Hot 100 hit for Stapleton, and it also peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
